About BeInspired and Team Inspire

BeInspired is a Technology, Transformation & Growth delivery partner. Through Team Inspire, we mobilise specialist consultants and multidisciplinary teams to deliver critical workstreams and complex programmes. We work with public-sector organisations, enterprises, technology businesses, systems integrators and prime contractors. Our model combines enterprise delivery experience with the pace, focus and agility of an SME. This public sector role is via the PSR framework.

The opportunity

We are building a small group of high-calibre planning specialists for a significant long-term transformation programme at the heart of UK critical national infrastructure and defence capability.

This is not a role simply maintaining a schedule. You will help create, assure and improve the integrated planning and delivery confidence required across complex technical, engineering, estates and infrastructure activity. It is an opportunity to shape how a major secure organisation plans, controls dependencies, manages change and prepares for long-term delivery.

What you will do

Build, maintain and assure integrated master schedules (IMS), including schedule logic, dependencies, milestones and critical-path analysis.

  • Use Primavera P6 to develop reliable plans and forecasts across complex programmes and projects.
  • Provide planning and project-controls insight to project managers, engineers, scientists and technical delivery teams.
  • Analyse schedule performance, earned value management (EVM) data, variances and recovery actions.
  • Challenge schedule quality, assumptions, sequencing and delivery risks constructively.
  • Support planning assurance, peer reviews, work breakdown structure (WBS) reviews and planning workshops.
  • Improve planning processes, templates, guidance and the effective use of planning tools across the organisation.
  • Support planning activity across estates, facilities, security systems, refurbishment and capital-project work where required.

Essential experience

  • Senior planning experience across complex programmes, projects or portfolios.
  • Strong, hands-on Primavera P6 experience.
  • Proven experience building, maintaining or assuring integrated master schedules.
  • Strong planning fundamentals, including critical-path analysis, network analysis, logic development and dependency management.
  • Practical project-controls and schedule-performance experience, including earned value management and schedule forecasting.
  • Evidence of improving planning quality, forecast reliability, risk visibility, recovery planning or delivery outcomes.
  • The confidence to work directly with project managers, engineers and technical stakeholders.
  • Experience within a large and complex organisation or delivery environment.

Experience in one or more of the following would be particularly relevant

  • Rail, construction, major infrastructure, aerospace, defence, civil nuclear or another highly regulated engineering environment.
  • Estates management, facilities refurbishment, security-system or capital-project planning.
  • Planning assurance, peer review, programme controls, EVM systems, planning templates or planning-tool training.
