The opportunity

We are developing specialist data capability that can turn complex enterprise-system records into reliable process evidence for process mining, operational analysis and transformation.

This role sits between source systems, data engineering and process-intelligence delivery. It is not a generic reporting or extract role. The purpose is to understand how operational events are recorded, build trustworthy analytical data sets and make the lineage, quality and limitations of that evidence clear to the wider delivery team.

You may own the technical data workstream for a process-intelligence engagement, work alongside an engagement manager and value consultant, or contribute within a multidisciplinary transformation team.

What you will do

• Work with business, process, application and data stakeholders to understand the operational process, source systems and analytical questions. • Translate process-mining and value hypotheses into precise data requirements, event definitions, case identifiers, activities, timestamps and attributes. • Investigate schemas, tables, relationships, extracts, interfaces and data ownership across complex enterprise environments. • Design and build reliable data sets, transformations and pipelines for process mining and operational analysis. • Use SQL and appropriate engineering tools to extract, clean, join, validate and model data from multiple sources. • Identify missing events, duplication, inconsistent identifiers, timestamp problems, gaps in lineage and other data-quality risks. • Document source-to-target logic, assumptions, transformations, controls and known limitations so analytical findings remain explainable and auditable. • Work with process consultants and value/dashboard specialists to test whether the data supports the intended business questions and decisions. • Support the configuration of process-intelligence data models, connectors, refreshes and analytical environments. • Help establish reusable technical patterns, quality checks and governance for future process-intelligence delivery.

Essential experience

• Senior data specialist, analytics engineer, data engineer, process-mining data engineer or equivalent experience in complex enterprise environments. • Strong practical SQL, including evidence of building and validating multi-source analytical data sets rather than only running predefined queries. • Experience with data modelling, schema interpretation, joins, transformations, cleansing, reconciliation and data-quality assessment. • Evidence of translating an analytical or business question into source-system extract and transformation requirements. • Experience working with enterprise operational data from systems such as SAP, Oracle, ServiceNow, Salesforce, ERP, CRM, finance, supply-chain or comparable platforms. • Understanding of process-mining data concepts, including cases, activities, event timestamps, attributes, event logs and the effect of data quality on analytical conclusions. • Evidence that data you personally prepared was used in process analysis, operational decision-making or implemented improvement. • Experience working credibly with application owners, architects, engineers, analysts and business stakeholders. • Evidence of working through a structured delivery framework or disciplined lifecycle, such as Agile, Scrum, Kanban, SDLC, DataOps, DevOps, data-governance controls, testing and release gates, process-mining implementation methods or a credible hybrid approach. This is an essential requirement. • The ability to explain your personal technical decisions, validation approach and the reliability limits of the resulting data.

Consulting mindset and delivery

You should be able to enter an unfamiliar data environment, ask precise questions and make complexity understandable to non-specialists. We value people who are transparent about uncertainty, challenge weak assumptions and treat data quality as part of the business problem rather than a technical footnote.

You will need to collaborate closely with process, value and engagement colleagues, understand the decision the data must support and balance delivery pace with traceability and control. Strong technical depth is essential, but so is the judgement to know when an apparently complete data set cannot support a safe conclusion.

Useful additional experience

• Python, Spark, dbt, ETL/ELT, APIs, cloud data platforms or data-orchestration tooling. • Celonis Data Integration, SAP Signavio Process Intelligence, ARIS Process Mining, UiPath Process Mining or comparable technology. • SAP process data, including Order-to-Cash, Procure-to-Pay, finance, supply chain, manufacturing or shared-services processes. • Power BI, Tableau, Qlik or collaboration with business-intelligence and value-engineering teams. • Data architecture, metadata, lineage, governance, privacy, security or regulated-data controls. • Public-sector, regulated, systems-integrator or large-enterprise delivery. • Experience working with security-cleared teams or within controlled technical environments. • Reusable connector development, technical standards or coaching data practitioners.

Some assignments may require BPSS, Security Check clearance or other client screening. Existing clearance is useful where current and verifiable, but it is not a universal requirement.

Where clearance is required, the exact residency, nationality and screening criteria will be confirmed for that assignment. Eligibility is not treated as confirmed until the relevant checks are complete.
